Mm~ Yeah, we all have things we never get to~ >u<
In my case, it's more about availability. I don't really have anything it's for currently.

Mm, the motives for said hacker group for attacking Facebook are pretty surprising for a hacker group. No matter what security settings you put up, or even if you delete your account, the company will always have access to peoples' information. There have been a lot of proven instances of information being bought from Facebook by the government (and other governments) and used to spy on innocent people. They seem to find that justifiably disgusting, and want to take action for the safety of many.
That, and hearing people rant on about Facebook like it's God all the time is kinda annoying.

That's any company though. and I don't know anybody that rants about Facebook like it's God. That's like wishing the entire planet be destroyed for a few religious zealots.
And who's to say the hackers aren't going to take the people's information themselves and use it to steal credit card info and phone #'s and who knows what else. You're potentially wishing a worse fate on people who use the site. It's like justifying someone breaking in and murdering a family because they were notoriously rotten to people. Just because people thought the family was bad, doesn't give them the right to murder them.
I don't buy the whole government thing. And even if they are tracking us, they can do it virtually any way they please. You're online, so technically you're traceable no matter what. I don't think they use individual people's information. Very few people are so important the government would track people on an individual basis. Without certain keywords I think at most they use our data to figure out which way to herd us and nothing more, but that's general information and can be found out through anything really. Popular TV shows and movies, products, etc.
If you don't agree, then don't join. It's as easy as that. Facebook hasn't done anything personally to your information or identity or anything else. You've made sure by swearing off it, and that's all you can do. Nobody can make you get on it, so you're safe where you are.
