I still don't understand how a robot can make explosives out of gum-base, charcoal and jellyfish juice... I guess I shouldn't question video game logic.Yes, I realize that's not what that robot is supposed to look like, I like my design for him better.
I also realize that's not even remotely how you hold a gun, I was too lazy to fix it.

Ithink it's charcoal to the explosion, gum base to the fuel or something, and jellyfish juice to dont lit fire on anything.

It didn't seem too far out there to me. I just pictured a sort of flammable paste like substance in my head, but then again, I guess it is a bit strange. Maybe it was something lost in translation.

Then they abused that and made that game their own.

No, he published the original on his own. Then other companies made adaptations for wii, steam, and 3DS with his permission. The one thing that he didn't like was that they turned his non-profit game into a way to make loads-o-dough.

That's an untold mystery of Cave Story.
However, I suggest to not think about it as logic and games usually does not come together well. Just accept it and move along. Nevertheless... When I was at that point of the game... I as well thought something like "Sure, no problem but... what the heck?"
