Here's a gift for Katesplace2009 . It's her character Olive comforting her stepson, Poundcake, after he woke up from a nightmare.

-*Story*-

Just a few weeks ago, Paprika and Olive adopted two bunny siblings named Poundcake and Coconut. The former is a classmate of Holly's and also her best friend, and they did pretty much everything together during the times they attended school together. Unfortunately, tragedy had struck in Poundcake's family for they had gotten into a horrible car accident, and while Poundcake and his little sister Coconut miraculously survived, their parents sadly weren't so lucky.
And while Poundcake loves his moms and new siblings very much, he still took his parents' death rather hard, and as a result, he developed PTSD and Survivor's Guilt. Though that sometimes, he would wake up in the middle of the night screaming after having those nightmares where he relived the crash that killed his parents.

One night, at 1:15 in the morning, Paprika and Olive were sound asleep when they heard Poundcake screaming for help. That yell ended up waking up Bean and Scout, who both immediately started crying. And while Paprika tended for the babies, Olive immediately went to Poundcake's room to check up on him, and ready to put her fight skills in hand in case there was an intruder invading the house.

Olive: *enters the room* Poundcake?! Is everything alright?!

Immediately, Poundcake ran to Olive, who quickly opened her arms so she could scoop her son up in a hug, allowing him to cry as much as he needed.

Poundcake: Mama! It was awful!

Olive: What happened?

Poundcake: I-i was back in that car crash that killed Mom and Dad. I tried to get Dad to choose another path, because i knew that truck was coming, but he didn't listen. A-and next thing i knew, i-...I-i-...

Olive: *strokes Poundcake's back with a paw* Shhhh...No need to finish the rest if you don't want to.

Poundcake: *still crying* I-if only i had noticed that truck coming towards us...I-i would have been able to save Mom and Dad...a-and they would still be here, a-and...

Olive: Poundcake, don't blame yourself. Your parents' death was not your fault. Those things unfortunately happen, but it's still not your fault.

At the same moment, Paprika walked in holding Bean and Sprout. The two have already calmed down and fallen asleep while sucking on their baby carrots (pacifiers).

Paprika: Your Mama's right, buddy. Sometimes things happen and no matter what we do, we just can't stop them from happening. I mean, sure it was bad. Your parents could have had the same luck as you and your sister, but there are things in life we just can't control it.

Olive: *nods in agreement* But i hope you know that this isn't over for you, or your sister. And if your parents are still here today, then they would be happy to know that you two are safe here with us. Because we all care about you. Me, your Mommy, your sister Holly, your little brothers Bean and Sprout, your Nana and Papa, your aunts, uncles, cousins. Even GG and Baba. We're all your family and we all care about you. Even before you became our son, you were Holly's classmate and best friend, and always will be, as well as her brother. We'll always be there for you, little guy.

Poundcake smiled, having been comforted by his moms' words.

Poundcake: *sniff* Thanks, Mommy and Mama...C-can i sleep with you guys tonight?

Paprika: *smiles warmly* Of course you can, sweetie. You don't even need to ask.

Olive: That's right. *chuckles*

Then, after Paprika put Bean and Sprout back in their cribs, she joined Olive and Poundcake as the latter spent the rest of the night sleeping between his mothers. It was good that Poundcake can always count on his adopted family to comfort him and be there for him, even during the toughest of times.
