Foresight
Nickname:Countess, The Count, Crystal Ball
Parents: Not really important
Special Talent:Seeing the future and having bad luck

Countess Foresight is a character I've been working on since like...last year? The problem is I never really got anywhere with her. Life stuff put drawing on the back burner. But anyway, I had drawn her before, gradually became dissatisfied with her appearance, and drew her again. This being the second attempt.

Foresight isn't really a countess. She's far too poor to be nobility. Her friends call her Countess because it makes her sound mystical and her uncanny ability to predict future events is a talent worthy of nobility.

Foresight has a form of sixth sense which gives her the ability to foresee certain events. (Obviously) Although these visions are rather vague and clouded. She does not normally receive images of specific events, it is more a feeling of danger or foreshadowing of some event that is to come. Or on a more positive side, if she can interpret correctly, a vision can help her decide exactly what she should do in any given situation. The problem is these visions come randomly, often at inopportune times, and often not when she could use the help.

Some visions come in dreams, sometimes they come when she is awake. Powerful visions can send Foresight into fits and spasms not unlike a seizure, pretty much ensuring every pony who does not know her on an at least semi personal level to think she is either sick, mad, or possessed. (She might actually be possessed though, who knows.)

These episodes are a thorn in Foresight's flank. While the visions may be helpful, the effects they have on her body are very indifferent to her well-being, leaving her exhausted or even physically injured. The crypitc nature of what she sees will leave her bewildered, as Foresight always has to use her own judgement to interpret the hidden message. Which will, at times, lead her to doubt and second guess the information she tells her friends. It took a long time for them to trust her as a legitimate clairvoyant and not just some sick mare who needed psychological treatment. (True Clairvoyance is a rare power, even among unicorns.) To counter this, Foresight puts on airs all the time, she prances, keeps her head up, acts cocky and aloof, to forestall the growling pit of doubt and unease. Forever dreading the day she may interpret a vision wrong. In public, Foresight is confident. Alone she trembles.

(Previous) Occupation: Lived as a self ordained oracle on a bustling island on the southern coast of the Zebra Kingdom. A consultant to merchants and stock holders. One day a very powerful merchant went to her for advice. The merchant needed to ship very important cargo across the sea but was unwilling to wait for Imp Wind season to pass. Patrons always pay tribute, and this merchant paid well, Foresight predicted a safe trip, but the ships did not make it. Clairvoyance is a bitch like that. A very unreliable bitch. Scorned, the merchant went into a rage, immediately assuming Foresight was a fraud. Now Foresight is on the run after costing the high rolling merchant millions in valuable treasure.
