And here be Vanity Smurf. The most vain(obvious) person in the village…if you don’t count Brainy who’s actually in hindsight twice as vain but in a different way. I modeled his outfit after Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast then I said “ehh fuck it” and gave him the ponytail too. Out of all the smurfs in the village, Vanity never wears a hat (unless its fasionable) to keep from messing up his hair. Or “lustrous mane” as he calls it.
I’ve always had an odd fondness for weirdly self absorbed characters like Vanity. Especially in his case because they all look the same!
Would probably explain why I like pony characters like Blueblood. They’re both sort of the same only Vanity is far nicer and much less insufferable. Though he still tends to fuss over his looks, he’s actually pretty noble and courageous when he needs to be.
