I worked on this piece for about 3 weeks, doing a bit of something to it every other day. I can't exactly remember where I gained my inspiration from but I do know that I did this piece in order to practice my shapes and I followed a fresher style than what I'm accustomed to so I can get back into art after exams. I won't end up giving my long explanations like I usually do. I'm going to let you guys interpret the art
Hope you enjoy it. Its my favourite piece so far. Any contructive comments and/or compliments are deeply appreciated
Done in Illustrator CS4 completely. I put in vexel category because I thought this would fit better in the surreal department but the Vector category didn't have it so yeah...
Also, I just noticed but I do not know why DA is bullshitting me. It has smaller than what it is supposed to be. Its supposed to be 1107x701 but its not showing as that. DA, what is going on? ._. >:[

I would suggest going for more depth. Of course this can be difficult when working with purely vector, but it would really add a lot to your work. Maybe even try experimenting with nonvector elements and processing.

the size thing: go to edit deviation and choose full view size original not 900 pixels wide

I thought it was a painting when I had just looked at it, its so clean, lol.
Am more of a bright colours guy but those that you used are are a cool and earthy to me, I can go with that.
You worked 3 weeks on this? Damn,lol. Thats dedication. Me, I'm on and off most times. I got one working on for about a week now that I could have finished a while back.

Nice as I said on SI, Now that I look at it on here, I'd say the colors don't quite bland enough, too little transition, but that might be just me.
Keep it up anyway, must have been reaally hard to do.

Yeah. It works a bit differently for each program. When I made the transition from using the pentool in PS to Illy I hated it lol. Eventually I became comfortable with it, perhaps too comfortable because now its takes me a while to remember how to use the pentool in PS XD

The colors are really clam and smooth, they work very well together. I'm getting a dessert harem feeling from this art.
I like everything except the shadows from the mushroom and the rock, they make the perspective seem a little off.

the bird. is very. very. sexy.
The BG is good too, whats ruining it for me is the plant D: its very eye catching, and doesnt fit in. the shadows a bit off to.
