Done in Photoshop. Thanks ~zhengzhou for giving me Dat diamond shaped brush, that was really the catalyst for me finishing this thing.I would like to say that I love all generations of My Little Pony. Although it is nice to get comments/views/faves from drawing fanart, I do not draw fanart for this reason. I art to keep improving, or try something new, and I hope that one day my art will be appreciated for what it is.

Very beautiful work, not sure I follow on your desire to have your work appreciated for what it is. while I like the character of rarity The appeal to me is more the style of drawing than the character. Could you perhaps clarify?

I'm hoping that one day both my conceptual and technical skills will be great enough that I can create characters and stories within artworks which may be enjoyed outside of fandom.
Here, I'm using fanart as a starting point for improving my technical efficiency and trying new techniques. With contributing to a fandom, the character, characterisation and setting are already established, so there are less things to worry about.
It's also thoroughly satisfying to bring canon to life. It is similarly satisfying contributing to a fandom which appreciates fanart and other fanon. <:
