Description For sale here: www.etsy.com/listing/187731841…

This is the last Forest Fwox I will be making. Once he's sold, this color pattern will be retired, so if you like him, you'd better act fast! I've run out of the brown and cream fabrics, so it's less a choice than a necessity. I do take custom orders and commissions on Fwoxes, though, so while I can't make you another one exactly like this, I can make one to your own specifications and colors. ^w^

Fwox are little spirit monsters that resemble bipedal foxes. They live in nature and are closely connected to the lands they inhabit. Fwox are mischievous by nature and if let into a house, they will most certainly find something to get into. The little ones especially like to nap in teapots if they can find any…

This plush is approximately 10.5 inches tall and is made from super soft fuzzy fabric, fleece, and felt. I sew them by hand, so it takes me roughly 6-7 hours to make a single Fwox. He's soft and floppy and great for cuddling!

Thank you! You're very skilled at making pokemon plushies! Do you use a sewing machine or do you hand sew them? ^w^

wow! that's impressive! was it hard to learn to use a sewing machine? yes, all my creations have been hand sewn so far, but that will likely change a bit in the future. i do have a sewing machine now, but...i'm afraid to use it, haha! well, actually, i don't currently have a good table space for practicing with it, but i am a bit anxious about it, too. sewing with a machine is a completely different method than hand sewing, so i have to relearn pattern making and other small details. i want to push myself to learn new things, though, and hopefully it will help speed up the process a bit, because hand sewing just takes so long. ; w ; i'll be practicing with it again soon, as a few practice patterns i recently bought are better suited to being done with a sewing machine than by hand. did you start out hand sewing or machine sewing? which do you feel is easier? ^w^

no its not to hard to learn, i started using one when i started sewing but then stopped using it for around a year then picked it up again. machine sewing s indeed a lot faster and the only changes i make then drafting a pattern is adding a larger seem allowance (it works for me at least). but don't be to nervous about it! just another step in plush making ^w^ Β (though i was nervous about just changing the fabric i used for a good year XD ). oh what patters did you get??Β
and i think for me hmmm both are pretty easy i would just say hand sewing takes a LOT longer but i still like doing it ^w^.

thank you so much for the encouragement! i use a whip stitch most of the time, which doesn't really deal with a seam allowance so much. or at least not in the same way. (there's nothing to clip in the corners, for example.) but i do look forward to getting back into practicing with the machine, and it's so good to hear from other plush artists who use them. ^w^ (it helps me feel less anxious, hehe.)

here are some of the patterns i want to try on my sewing machine:

the bear is actually quite tiny, but i enlarged both patterns so it'd be easier on the machine. the parts are simple, so i thought they'd be good for being new to sewing with a machine. i'm also excited to learn about traditional doll joints. ^w^

i'm glad you still like hand sewing. for me, it's like zen...the repetition is calming and i zone out completely, especially if there's music playing. i wonder if sewing with a machine will be as relaxing, hehe.

thanks again!
