Description
Experimenting with merging backgrounds and textures here!I would really like to hear what you think good or bad; be honest, I won't take offence!
I made this as an entry into =WrenStormbringer 's Second Annual Equine Dreams Contest [link]

Hey hun. I wish I'd found this piece of your before (I just found it via someone's favs). This is really great, it's such a great use of the stock images. I know that collection of ~Cobweb-stock 's stock, and to get him looking like he's sitting on the pegasus is an awesome feat

Thank you, I'm glad you like it although as you say it is rather old and I would probably do things a bit different now! As you reminded me of this I rediscovered cobweb-stock and have used hin again in my latest!

The only problem is his wiast and legs: the angle is wrong so his position on the horse is very twisted, so he'd have a hell of a time sticking to the horse. But it's a very dramatic picture: heck, maybe Perseus os about to fling himself from his noble steed and rescue Andromeda

Thank you, I do hope you're computers up and running properly now, they are so irritation when they go wrong. I'm going to get another external hard drive for xmas and use it as a 100% back up of my current external drive that I work on, I always lose so much when my computer dies so hopefully this will fix the problem!

we are on a new computer now, and it's got Vista. Some things don't seem to gel as they should, and so lots of tweaking and downloading of updates and drivers. I think computer companies do this to just get us to purchase more and try our nerves !

My compter died a few months back and I lost everything I had on it, my new one has Vista too. I quite like it except for the irritation picture that pops up went the mouse points at the taskbar, it always seems to obscure the text box I'm typing in! Also on a few occasions its downloaded updates and rebooted itself without any warning at all and I've lost what I was doing! Good luck getting it all sorted anyway!

Well spotted, you are totally right, this is indeed his first and only ride on Pegasus, after killing Medusa and on route to rescue Andromeda!

Great manip Derek. Love the texture. One thing...the light on the front leg of the horse....since the light is coming from behind them (the moon) unless theres a lights source in front of them, just seems a bit odd to me.

Thanks for commenting, yes you're totally right about the light, I was aware of it but I wanted Perseus and Pegasus to stand out light against a darker background and the moon and castle lighting worked so well I had to keep it!

I have a tip there........I know in PSP theres a spotlight filter. I am assuming that photoshop has it too where you focus light on something....given they would have been a layer you could have focused the spotlight on them softly from the top of them without it being too bright in any given area yet still maintaining the darkness behind them and in turn it wouldnt have been as outstanding on the forequarter.
Its really not anything of great concern...one sees it as they do ...its only nit picky people (like me) who try to imagine lighting and shadow in my own manips that i look for it in others. Probably unfairly so .... but im conditioned to look for it now...cant help myself
