Who had a hand it's it alteration? Why? What was his/her/their reasoning? How long has it been there?

you have good framework.
I would not have it on its side, i know you were going for 'crazy', but this is a bit to crazy
have it verticle, add a border, def. bump up the contrast and play with levels a bit
it seems a little too raw but you can work with it as you have a great concept going for you
