HISTORY
Amaya was born poor in the Village Hidden In The Mist. She lived with Kasumi, the woman whom she thought was her mother. She never knew her father, but, she was close with Kasumi. In spite of being somewhat poor, they lived extremely happily together. Until, one day, when she was 6 years old, Kasumi was killed by an intruder to their home. She couldn't remember the man very well, but he wasn't after money or valuables. He killed Kasumi and left. He couldn't find her as she was hidden in the closet as Kasumi had told her to. It was thought to be Zabuza Momochi who killed her, but it was never proven. Devastated, she sat over the corpse of the woman she considered to be her mother, the only mother she ever knew, and cried for a whole 24 hours. Finally, she swore that one day she would become strong enough for revenge and that she would never fall victim to anyone as Kasumi had. when she was old enough, she joined the Ninja Academy in The Hidden Mist Village. She eventually graduated, becoming a full fledged Kirigakure Konoichi. when she was 15 yrs old, she learned that the woman who she she thought was her mother actually was not. Her real mother was Izumi Terumi, the older sister of the woman who had just become Mizukage. The village elders told her that Izumi died shortly after Amaya was born. Kasumi, who was Hitomi's best friend, took Amaya in & raised her & loved her like her own. Izumi's dying wish was that she would do so. Kasumi was going to tell Amaya the truth when she(Amaya) got old enough, but she never got that chance. The elders, however, never mentioned her father, saying they didn't know of him. She met her aunt, the Mizukage, Mei Terumi, and Mei asked her to stay at the mansion with her. Amaya agreed, not holding any hard feelings for her as she had never known about Amaya either. She understood why both her mother, Hitomi, & Kasumi did what they did. She spent what time she could with her aunt, Mei, when she wasn't busy with important business. Amaya and Mei were both happy. Amaya felt, though, that she didn't deserve all of this, that she was weighing Mei down. She knew in her heart that this wasn't her place, that she didn't belong there. Three days after moving in, she disappeared from the village, never seen by anyone in the village again, including Mei. Leaving was one of the hardest things she'd ever done, but she knew she didn't belong there, living in a palace, possibly to become the next Mizukage some day. That just wasn't her. She didn't belong in a palace & she certainly was not Mizukage material, nor did she want to be. She still wanted to get revenge for Kasumi on the man who had killed her. As happy as she was there, she knew she had to leave, as her place was somewhere out there. She left a note for Mei, telling her, thanking her and explaining everything, & then left, & Mei lost the only link she had of her late sister. For years, Amaya wandered alone, searching for any means she could of finding the man who ruined her life and shattered her world as a child. What kind of sick monster could do that to someone while a child was watching? At 22, she was found by the Akatsuki and they extended an offer for her to join them. Feeling that this was what she needed to finally exact her revenge, & possibly find her place in the world, she accepted. when she was recruited, Pain took her aside & told her something that changed her forever. He told her that her father was Zabuza Momochi, the very man who killed Kasumi. Zabuza had been there that night, wanting to see his daughter, Amaya. When Kasumi refused & told him that she wasn't there, he got mad & killed her. Her real mother, Hitomi, had gotten pregnant by Zabuza when she was young. When she was killed, Kasumi adopted Amaya. Kasumi & the village elders also knew that Amaya's father was Zabuza Momochi, but didn't tell her. She wasn't angry with her mother or her aunt, but she couldn't believe the elders had lied to her. she was angry at her adopted mother, Kasumi, for keeping her hidden from her father. no matter what he was, Amaya still felt that he deserved to see his daughter. She took the last name of her father, Momochi, & swore to become strong enough to avenge his death. She quickly fell in love with the immortal, loud mouthed Hidan. Kakuzu, however, was one of the few who could scare her. She was also intimidated by Pain, although she did respect him. She & Deidara got to be somewhat friends, though, she liked to tease him. She tried to avoid Sasori at all costs, believing him to be a "freak" and "psycho" as she'd called him on more than one occasion. She adores Kisame, thinking of him like family because he fought alongside her father, seeing him as the only family she has. At her request, he took her as his student, teaching her swordplay & some of his jutsus. She thought Tobi to be funny & entertaining. She idolized Konan, being very close with her, and often expressing a desire to be "just like her". She was partnered up with Rin Akiyama, a former assassin, & Rin Nagame, a healer, seeing as they were all 3 women & were all recruited about the same time.
PERSONALITY
Amaya most of the time appears cold and uncaring, though she has a odd, sort of dark or sarcastic sense of humor. She can be very mean when she wants to be, although it is sometimes seen that she has more morals than most of the other Akatsuki members. She is very stubborn, refusing to do anything that she doesn't want to do, and is a bit wild and can be flirtatious (especially towards Hidan). She is adventurous & doesn't like being bored. (& she gets bored somewhat easily) She has a soft spot for kids, possibly because of her childhood tragedy, and is usually extremely kind and caring towards children. She is afraid of fire. Her other weakness is Hidan. She will do just about anything for him. She loves water and loves to swim and walk in the rain.
Likes: rain, water, her favorite colors are red & blue, visiting her father's grave(she visits it weekly), fighting, being around Hidan & Kisame, walking in the rain, sharks & fish, her favorite foods are candy or anything sweet or salty, Amaya collects anything that has to do with water or fire, she has an aquarium in her room (which she shares with Hidan, the room, not the aquarium) in the Akatsuki hideout
Dislikes: people who give her attitude, vegetables, especially fresh ones(a mutual dislike she shares with her father), stupidity, waiting, she suffers from Nosocomephobia(fear of hospitals)
ABILITIES
like all shinobi, she can use basic shinobi abilities, and like most Hidden Mist Village shinobi, Amaya specializes mainly in water jutsus. though, she did inherit some of her aunt's kekkai genkai, the Corrosion Style/Lava style, though it is unknown whether or not her mother had the kekkai genkai.(though, it's likely that she did) she also is quite skilled in swordplay, having inherited her father's talent for it, and having beein trained in it by Kisame, upon her request
