My birthday cake for this year! I tend to go to the effort of making fully decorated cakes only for other people, but I figured I was due something special - and I don't think I've ever been more satisfied with the outcome.

It was, after all, only twenty years ago that I received a birthday cake with a white-with-purple-mane pony and an all-pink pony as decoration (rocking it G1-style!) Clearly I have matured a lot!

The cake itself is a vanilla victoria sponge, and the filling is fresh raspberries, blackberries and whipped cream. Looking at the bottom-right image, it's admittedly not a terribly attractive mixture aesthetically, but it tasted wonderful - and I had to fight to secure myself a second little slice before the whole thing disappeared!

The design is, of course, Pinkie Pie and her party cannon (with added Gummy). For the purists, I added a burning fuse to make it clear to those non-MLP-aware guests that it was a cannon. It's very difficult not to make that cannon look hugely inappropriate! -and I don't want that rule 34 trash anywhere near my ponies, thank you very much.
