Description Cake for my combined birthday/PhD completion/leaving do. Took six hours to complete (it was a far too ambitious project), then was demolished in about half an hour!

Yes, I did turn a fault(line) in the icing into a breach of the fourth wall. Rarity was going to have a needle and thread anyway, but I'd never worked with such a massive rectangular cake before and I'm awful at putting on the base layer of fondant at the best of times.

Awesome work!
If I had a cake like this, I would not dare to eat it.

I would fight for this cake.
No one shall eat it!

This is decidedly epic. Fairly clear for the ever-fickle medium, too. And the idea with the stitched fault in the cake? Brilliant.

Well done! I hope it was as tasty as it is good.

Yeah, fondant icing (any type of icing, really) is a real pain in the butt when it comes to rendering nice precise details. My friends loved it, but with a few exceptions (I really like how Rainbow Dash came out), to me it looks like one big fail when compared to the original templates - but that's always the way when you're the one who knows how it was -supposed- to look. Next time I'll be sure to limit it to 3 figures or fewer.

Oh, and it was indeed really tasty! Came as a massive relief to me as I'd not made a marble cake in ages, and I hadn't made anything in that big rectangular cake pan.

Thanks!
