Description This was an honest-to-goodness warning sign I saw in a Botanical Garden, on the lovely island of Barbados. lol

Looking back at these photos, I can't believe I really went there!

Be prepared for me to spam this account with some lovely snaps.

Love it! This sign is proof that you're more likely to be killed by a falling coconut/ fruit than a shark. lol.

Glad you like it! And yep, that is absolutely true. While I was in the jungle the closest I came to death was when a mango dropped from a VERY tall tree rather too close for comfort. Forget the poisonous snakes, fruit is just as lethel.

Well I don't think I'd be able to forget the poisonous snakes, but they'd certainly go down a notch on my "what to watch out for" list. I think this is why I like New Zealand so much, no snakes at all! Just sharks. And spiders.

Heh. Yeah, but aren't snakes your greatest fear?

So, you staying in NZ for longer, or have you a return date?

Certainly snakes are one of my greatest fears, I couldn't tell you of I was more terrified of them, spiders or sharks. But if the immediate danger was coming from falling fruit then I'd be more worried about the fruit. lol.

I do indeed have a return date, I'm flying home on the 23rd of March, landing back in the UK on the 24th. Told my parents that I'm flying on the 25th though so that I can surprise them! lol. I don't think I'll be in the UK much longer than a year though, I really want to get off to Japan to teach English for about 6-9 months, then head down to Australia via South East Asia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and the like, and after Australia visit the Pacific Islands, maybe do my US working holiday visa and then Canada before settling down. I'm thinking I may end up settling in New Zealand though, got an idea in my head of setting up my own dog training/kennels/grooming business over here. But when I'm back I will be making my way up to the Lakes to see you before you go wherever you're off to, distances in the UK seem nothing now compared to distances in NZ. When do you head off on your adventure, and how long are you going for?

Ah, I'm just off for a one month - January. I get back 2nd feb. So I should be around in spring when you return. I'm thinking I might head abroad again in Summer but am not sure.

Your plans sound fantastic! Am soooo jealous! I hope I can settle abroad myself by the end of the year, but it all depends on how january goes.

Oh wow, you'll have been and got home before I get back! Well I look forward to hearing all about your adventures in the spring. Are you still working at the 18th Century house or has that finished for the season?

I forgot to mention Europe and South America in my plans! Silly me! So settling down will even later than I planned! lol. Fingers crossed for January being AWESOME for you so you can settle there.

House is closed until March, we've got some newbies so I'll be helping with training in Feb.

This is why I'm travelling now!

Glad you got the travel bug. As for me, settle is probably the wrong word... lol.

Look at you training! You'll be head house-maid before you know it! lol. Do they need any more staff starting March? I'd be more than willing to dress up as an 18th century serving girl to earn my living! Hell, I'd do anything, travelling has taught me not to be picky with jobs! lol. Hence why I'm now working in sales, going door to door getting people to sign up to an insurance brokers. Can you believe it!

Yeah, I don't like the word settle, makes me feel like I'm compromising something. Set roots would be better, lol.

dawww...I wish you'd asked sooner! House opens in March, would have been perfect! But you'd have missed interviews and training... if anyone of the newbies drops out I'll let you know!

Would have been good timing, but like you say would have missed interviews and training! But yeah, if someone did drop out casually mention you have a friend who likes to dress up and pretend to be from another time period and would be willing to relocate to the Lake District. Oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
