I likes! Only thing I'd change is to crop the pic slightly higher so the wall ornament is whole. I love how cats look so "I'm better that you".

Thank you so much and for the advise... this photo isn't cropped so I cannot fix unless I do some manipulation but not to worry next time I know what to look out for and thanks for the advice it is always very appreciated

All cats and felines big and small are better than us, we are merely their slaves

I only know that coz I did a course that a good friend sent me on. I've done photography for ages but never really knew the settings and stuff, well what they actually meant, after the course it was so much better using my camera and I also found that even though I use an older 350D, there's no need to upgrade as I'm only now starting to use the camera's capabilities to the full.

I showed the lecturer some pics and he had the same advice on this pic:

To crop it lower so the blue is out because colours detract from the focal point if they're brighter than the subject. In your case it's not the colour, but a shape - and round shapes do the same, apparently we're conditioned to look at round things first like eyes, but if in the shot there's a bigger "eye" in can detract from the subject.

So I'm not really good at crit, I love any pics really, but here I just passed on what was told to me lol.

The Egyptians were onto summin with felines - they knew it all that time ago too lol.

Well got myself the new Nikon D3000 so on the 12th Jan going for the course they offer to learn the camera settings, buttons, etc... I HATE manuals, never have the patience.....

Going to work on a portfolio over December, try to get into a new industry and hopefully I can study photography part time next year ... yes lots of dreams and wishes, but if you don't try you don't know Vega offers some great photographic courses covering everything from Basics to Advanced to specializing, should keep me busy and out of trouble for a couple of years

Once again thanks for the advise, and yes the Egyptians knew their felines, thank goodness for them and they held them in very high regard

Wicked, you'll enjoy it I'm sure.

I did my refresher course through College Of Digital Photopraphy. They have a few branches and the course was so much fun, and they explain the manual properly for you and have cool practical assignments. Maybe check them out at [link]

I am, I am, just need a decent zoom lens now, the one the camera comes with is not good at all and with animal photography I really need it... but that's another saving I'll have to do Now I carry the 2 cameras with me, mine for close ups and the Canon digital for zooming better.... and so it never stops

Thanks so much for the link, will definitely check this out and see what they offer

That's the killer, lens prices. I want a 10-22mm wide angle and a 70-300mm zoom, nothing fancy, but just those two will be just over R10k!

Oh yes you would fall in love with him like everyone else has

Please post some pics of her sometime, would love to meet her! She does love you very much, when they find that special someone you are special to them always

He was 18 months when I got him, a friend of a friend, he comes from a gay guy that had met a new partner who had an older cat, Felix kept attacking the cat, when he came out to give Felix to me, Felix literally jumped in my arms and settled into his new home fantastically .... and coming from a gay couple he loves being cleaned and groomed and enjoys connoisseur food ... wouldn't change him for the world
