So I never played Heavy Rain. But I feel genuinely bad for Jason every time I watch that scene, and this teaches me that red balloons are dangerous. ('It can be dangerous. VERY DANGEROUS')

This is amazing!! I honestly feel a bit bad for Jason.. he gets so much hate, but the original plot of the scene was going to have Jason fly at Grace when he got hit... like, yikes, this kid was just so innocent..

Jason is the cause of everyone's misfortunes in the game
THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE GAME
Ethan and Grace divorce
several children are murdered
The whole reason the origami killer even exists
Why poor old manfred died
Why Ethan had to cut off his finger and crawl through a tunnel of glass
Why Lauren died (optional)
Kramer died (optional)
His brother getting kidnapped and possable dieing and this is only a few of the things that it caused pretty much every bad thing that happens to someone in this game is because that little FUCK just wouldn't listen to his dad and got himself killed

Jason Mars's death was not the cause of the origami killer, it was only the cause of making the origami killer choose Ethan, remember that the murders had been going on for a year before Jason died. The reason the origami killer exists is because of John Shephard who drowned in in 1977 in a drain, twin brother of Scott (origami killer) Jasons death was just an accident but the only thing it really caused was Shaun being kidnapped and Ethan and Grace's divorce.
So you are sort of right about two things, but I am sorry, I had to correct you on a couple

No The Killer didn't start until after Jason died because he saw that Ethan would sacrifice himself for his he remembered stuff and saw if he could find any other father's that would do the same. It would be impossible for them to have already be going on for a year because Jason died in 2009 and the murders started 2009 they even sy sveral times that the killings have gone on for 2 years not 3.Also I have also beaten it several times.

At the end of the game if you arrive at the warehouse as Ethan. The origami killer arrives and says: "I've been looking for a long time Ethan, for a father that would sacrifice himself to save his son. Oh I searched and searched. Then I remembered you." and it cuts to the flashback of the mall. This makes it clear that the murders went on before Jason was killed. You see it with most serial killers that an event from their past triggers the impulse to "Mimic" that event. In the cast of the origami killer, He looked to find a father capable of saving his son because his own father wouldn't.

A long time could mean 2 years also if you play the Norman stage where he looks at the first bitof evidence you see that the second murder occured on November 15 2009 which means the first was at most a month or 2 before
