do you still have access to this same kind of fur? and would you ever consider making a similar mask, with the same fur color only a feline? just curious. i know you wont recreate this specifically but i love the fur

My favourite mask you've ever made. The fur looks brown in certain lightings.

wow a wolf dragon hybrid!!! O_o i love hybrids, wolves and dragons!!
and i LOVE what you have done here!!
i can tell the horns are real, but did you make it with a real animal head or with some thing elce?
WELL DONE!!! ^_^

Qarrezel In reply to MokimoDragon [2009-07-13 19:12:22 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! Actually, the horns aren't real, but close - they're resin replica horns. The head is not a real animal's head, but fake fur laid over a resin form that I made.

How do you see out the masks with the glass eyes I make masks as well and that is always a problem for me.
Thank you for your time
Miranda

You see out of the tearducts - the dark areas on the inner side of each eye. Vision is not perfect (no peripheral) but it's pretty good.

Wow, these masks are awesome!!! O___o
Never seen anything like that!
Can you really see something with such a mask?
Really great work!!!

Thanks!
Do you mean can you see out? In which case, yes, there are vision holes.

Yes, that's what i meant, sorry XDĀ° *baaad english*
I'm really fascinated by your masks!
But it's very hot inside, isn't it?

Qarrezel In reply to Thalbachin [2009-05-24 21:43:28 +0000 UTC]
No worries. They can be pretty warm inside, yes. It's not quite so noticeable when the weather is cool, but on a hot day, it's hard to wear something like that for a very long time.

Oh wow, how long do these take you to make?
š: 0 ā©: 1
Qarrezel In reply to sekenda-keket [2008-10-01 03:28:49 +0000 UTC]
In actual work hours, not too long, really. For a set like that, maybe 20 hours? Drying time (and hand cramping) prohibits actually finishing them that quickly, though.

Ahh okay.
I was thinking about making my own masks for halloween, but the time factor might be a problem.

Gorgeous. I love everything about it, but especially the piercing blue eyes and the horns.
Are the horns actual blesbok horns, or cast from the real thing?
š: 0 ā©: 1
Qarrezel In reply to EirewolfCreations [2008-08-25 04:10:58 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! The horns are cast from real horns.

Qarrezel In reply to taxidermy [2008-08-25 04:14:16 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! It's rather difficult to explain exactly how I do the fur in words. I stretch a piece of fur fabric over the face to cover the whole thing, cut it in a couple places, then sew one seam down the chin. So there aren't actually any seams on the face. I'm planning to put together some sort of photo demo of the process.
