Description
Number Nine from the movie "9"I made this for one of my art classes.
Sorry about the poor image quality, I took it with my cell phone.
I was actually inspired to do this by
through her amazing 9 fanart and plushies!
Materials Used:
.Natural Burlap*skin
.2½ inch Styrofoam ball*skull
.Brown sewing thread
.Medium sized thimbles & clothing snaps*eyes
.Coil zipper
.Metal wires*armature
.Polyester fiber*just a little bit. You don't want to make him obese.
.White PRANG air hardening clay*palms & feet
.Brown paper tightly wrapped and cut*fingers
.Brown/orange/black/white paint*brown also used for staining the burlap
.6½ inch long nail*staff
.Copper wire
.Small light bulb*had to cut the base in half for being too long
.Small plastic black cap*holds the light bulb
.Large plastic bottle cap*Cut and placed at the base of the light bulb/black cap
.Black electrical tape*covering base. Also used on doll's wrists & ankles, then painted over brown.
.Piece of small metal*bent and connected to bulb & base
.Krazy/tacky glue*to hold down loose burlap

This is simply amazing! The attention to all of 9's detail and intricacies really does make me wonder how long it took and how much concentration as well. Lovely job!

That's a VERY impressive 9 sculpture! I'm awestruck, you got all his details so accurate! And he has a very well built form. Loving all the detail. A great effort, you'd had better got a good mark for this project. XD Awesome work!

Yah, saw lilypily's stuff. I had the idea before I saw her work. . . wish I had seen hers and yours sooner. Might have saved me some anguish. I'm making this thing for my son. . . he turns 4 today. Hope he likes it. Just got to update the eyes.
