because the first one wasn't the right cuddling size!
this bug is bigger than the one with the opening mouth; about 15 inches from snout to butt. he’s also way floppier, filled with more plastic pellets and less polyfill stuffing than the smaller plush. made of the same minky, mochi/stretch minky, and metallic spandex as the first one. unlike the first one, he has wire running all the way through his antennae, supported with buckram, to help them keep their shape better.
