Description Let her come to me...

Guys... this movie absolutely destroyed me. When I saw it, I'm pretty sure I cried for about 75-80% of the movie. The plot was fantastic, Moana's voice is literally the most beautiful voice I think I've ever heard, and it's a fantastic and beautiful movie with amazing music. I could go on and on, and I might, but after you all promise you'll watch it.Β

Also Te Ka (the scary lava monster) took me two fucking days to draw, holy shit she's a tricky one. But hey, I managed to finish this before the end of December! Hooray, last piece of art for 2016, which was actually an amazing year for movies. Not much else, but the movies were on point. Happy holidays, everybody.

Thank GOD someone shares my feelings for that movie. So freaking beautiful. The "Shiny" scene where Tamatoa goes all neon made me lose my mind.

I absolutely lost my shit at the black light scene, because that shit NEVER HAPPENS IN MOVIES ANYMORE AND I FUCKING FLIPPED!!!!! I remember when shit like that would happen in really old animated movies and when that scene happened something inside me awoke. I don't know what it was but it was amazing.

It's very amazing.. I'm the biggest sucker in the world for beautiful and surreal scenery. So when stuff like that is in games, movies or whatever, and not in my imagination, it's just... like you said, something inside me awakes. I don't know what it is, but it's amazing.

Yeah, I'm weird.

I heard there are some people comparing THIS MASTERPIECE with Frozen... I don't know, I just know I cried with Moana

Qille In reply to Thais123and [2016-12-31 05:33:06 +0000 UTC]

I thought Frozen was okay, but just okay. I felt no emotions when watching it, I didn't laugh, I got kinda bored, and it had one good song that was played so much I hate it now. But Moana... now THAT is how you make a movie! You're right, I have no idea what people are doing comparing it to Frozen. It made more money than Frozen, there wasn't a single white person to be seen, and all the music was good! I cried so much, and during the reprise for How Far I'll Go, I was properly sobbing. Like... the most disgusting crying you can imagine. It was fantastic.

Saw it yesterday. It was pretty good.Β

That ending was great. Though, they did bring up an interesting point. Why didn't the ocean do the quest for them? They brought it up, and shrugged it off. Probably would've saved countless islands.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Qille In reply to DominicTheRaccoon [2016-12-31 05:34:28 +0000 UTC]

Because the ocean wasn't able to return the heart of Te Fiti because you need hands to put it back and Te Kā can't touch water

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DominicTheRaccoon In reply to Qille [2016-12-31 05:40:53 +0000 UTC]

I'd have thought that the ocean could've generated a powerful enough blob of water to shove it back in.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Qille In reply to DominicTheRaccoon [2016-12-31 05:55:17 +0000 UTC]

True, but in Polynesian culture the ocean is seen as a living being that connects all the islands, probably including Te Fiti. Also apparently there's a mystery where the South Pacific voyagers straight up stopped voyaging for 1,000 years and then started up again, and nobody knows why, and this movie was a way to explain it

He is! What great characters, right? Cannibal bird and kleptomaniac giant coconut crab. Cannibal cockatoo and klepto crab. Love it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DominicTheRaccoon In reply to Qille [2017-01-01 03:30:54 +0000 UTC]

The coconut crab technically was a cannibal himself. Ate his grandmother. Though, that's actually pretty realistic as sometimes the species does eat its own members.

I knew they weren't going to straight up fight her because every time they did that Maui got bitch slapped out of the sky, but I didn't know what they were going to do in the end. Talk about a plot twist! (Trying not to say any spoilers in case someone who hasn't seen the movie is reading the comments lol)
