omg i just realized I called dA's message center a "dash" like in tumblr. xDDDD. hahaha that's when you know you've been on tumblr for too long xDD; "orz. i meant i felt like i'd clog up peep's message center, whereas on tumblr the dash is often updated everyday anyways by peeps i follow xDD;;

Oh, that's OK--I'm on Tumblr every couple days to look, so I knew that when you said dash you meant message center...

I just find Tumbler so hard to find things in, and it's so much more organized here at dA--all my Tumblr friends' updates show as a long string of pix and rps and posts and stuff to scroll down; and you don't even know till you click on the message box, if you have a reply in it. You also have to click on each thing in your dashboard to see any other comments that are on it, or to make a comment....Only nice thing is the little thingie on the side to return to the top--wish dA had that, sometimes...

ah, well...for me, keeping track simply means reblogging and tagging things. That way, I can go back to my inspiration blog if I ever want to see pictures of, say landscapes and stuff I reblogged, I can pull them up easily via tags . For me it works a lot better as an inspirational place just cause it's so much easier to discover new artists whereas dA's all about the front page or going through people's favourites which requires just as much manual work as tumblr, if not more since I have to click into the thumbnail to see properly xD;;.
but that's just why I enjoy tumblr

Well, I do see how your way of using it would make Tumblr pretty sweet--JW, though, unless you make up a really unique tag, wouldn't all sorts of stuff that used the same tag come up, if I understand the tagging correctly? Of course, I am pretty new to Tumblr.

oh, no no, i meant if you go into your own blog and search...so not via the "search tag" option, but...say I reblogged a bunch of food photographs, I tag those as "food", and I can search it on my own blog with "qinnih.tumblr.com/tagged/food" and it'll just show all the posts I tagged that has the tag "food" in it. similarly, I tag "art" and "digital" and "traditional". I also have "fashion" and "female" which stands for female photographs. or "male". i've also got a tag for "landscape" and "city" which is actually cityscape but w/e xDD;~ ....sorry, i rambled a bit xD;;. but yeah, that's how i search for inspirations/references I wanna see that I reblogged.

Oh, Ok, that makes sense---It would be easier than looking in your own favorites, at least a little, even if you do folders in your favorites....plus there are more TYPES of things on Tumblr in general than on dA, which focuses more on drawn art and photography (and more the former) than on other types of art; though you can find all sorts of stuff here on dA, too....Oops, now I rambled on, too....

hm, well, tumblr can be pretty varied depending on the area you're in though. ah, well, i just like that you can tag different things to a picture, like if there's a landscape that has stars and clouds, i can also tag it "stars" and "clouds" so that when I can search for separate things and it might lead to the same picture that has the subject i'm looking for . so i think it works better than folders xD~
