Description I'm currently working on a little project for the Friends of Killarney Provincial Park. They're going to be printing a paddle guide for day users, and it's all about George Lake. I've been asked to do the illustrations for this book. It willl be small about 5" X 7" and will contain about 10 illustrations. So all of these images are actually going to printed about 2 thirds the size they're appearing here.

This image shows an interesting geological feature of George Lake. On the north side of the lake, quartzite comprises the majority of the ridges around the lake. However, there is also some dark volcanic rock in the area. Here you can see a shining white quartzite hill, however along a crack near the bottom of the ridge, you can see where dark volcanic rock has pushed up into the white quartzite right along the point sticking out into the water. This volcanic rock actually split a little piece of the quartzite off the main piece and pushed it over to the right side of the image. You can see little rock that looks lighter than the rest, and that would be the little bit of quartzite surrounded in volcanic rock.

Please keep in mind that these illustrations are the property of Christina Stoppa and the Friends of Killarney Park and cannot be used without permission!

Thank you! The drawings are being produced for a book that will be printed in black and white, so they need the drawings to remain colourless.
