Description Large black Ants(Formica fusca,possibly) tending their Aphid `Cows` ,they stroke them so they excrete `Honey-Dew`which is used as a foodstuff by the Ants.

This is a symbiotic relationship ...the Ants protect the Aphids from predators in return for the honey-dew.
