Description
Built from 1993 to 1996; the Class 92 would be one of the last british electric locomotives ever built. The Class 92 runs off of either 25Kv AC or 750V DC third rail.
The Class 92s purpose was to be able to operate through the Channel Tunnel, between the UK and France; this becomes more apparent as Class 92s operate with DB Cargo (Bulgaria) and Transagent Rail (Croatia) and are still in service with them today.
There was a planned sleeper service with a Class 92 selected to pull it; this service would of been called 'Nightstar' and would be bring the sleeper service through the Channel Tunnel.
The total amount of Class 92s built was 46.
