Someday. The one I have is a slide film picture of a poster. I want to take a slide film picture of the plants or find someone who paints and do a slide of their painting. Not sure when that will be :scratcheshead:

I have other directions to go with the projected light images but it's hard to get the new approach started.

desertwhitelilly In reply to QuantumElement [2014-03-01 06:08:47 +0000 UTC]

When you take these shots do you use just a typical projector and white or black wall in a dark room? What camera do you use and what settings?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

QuantumElement In reply to desertwhitelilly [2014-03-01 14:33:51 +0000 UTC]

Yes, an old projector, not a digital. It doesn't produce a very bright projection.Β  AtΒ  that time & in that space I would pull a rope alongside a wall and hang a huge piece of black muslin, but use it as aΒ  'side drop' ...Β  it was open space behind the model, so that the projection had nothing to hit anywhere close to the model.Β  The camera is the same 5D canon I still use. Shutter speed of 60 thousandth, film speed 400ISO and aperture at 2.8.Β Β

Oh! news in that department.... trying to pull some projection shoots together to follow the themes of nature, mysticism, health, energy..... to hang on some wallspace. ... hopefully

The elements maybe? They go with the chakras if you want health and energy?

very good you draw the bodypainting?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

QuantumElement In reply to daxusx [2013-01-30 17:06:46 +0000 UTC]

No, I took a slide film image of a poster, then put the slide in an old fashioned slide projector & then captured the results with my digital camera it's light, not paint

can you teach me the technique you did it without using photoshop?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

QuantumElement In reply to daxusx [2013-01-30 19:02:34 +0000 UTC]

You'll need a film camera, slide film and a projector.... you could use a digital projector (most do) but I prefer the old fashioned type... and when you take the picture of the projection on the person, whether you use a film camera or a digital for the finished shot, a fairly fast lens would be good f1.2 up to maybe f2.8 Later this evening I can do a step by step explanation and send it to you in a note

I love this!!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

QuantumElement In reply to HouaVang [2013-01-17 05:09:39 +0000 UTC]

You should try this technique.... shoot some random stuff on slide film.... put the slides in a slide projector, shine it on people and photograph the results

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HouaVang In reply to QuantumElement [2013-01-17 05:26:22 +0000 UTC]

Wow, if I could afford a projector, I've always wanted to try it maybe I'll invest in one

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

QuantumElement In reply to HouaVang [2013-01-17 05:37:12 +0000 UTC]

No, get an old projector...with the light bulb, the carousel.... lower light levels but better, richer color tones...digital projectors make it too easy

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HouaVang In reply to QuantumElement [2013-01-17 14:10:30 +0000 UTC]

oh! Thanks so much for the tip! I think I will go find me one I'ev always wanted one

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

QuantumElement In reply to HouaVang [2013-01-17 17:06:03 +0000 UTC]

$15 to $175 on craigslist... the lower end of that at garage sales... no reason to pay more than $30... the bulbs normally cost $35-40 at lighting warehouses....
