I guess it's one of the first Alola pokemon taht I can really fell using it <3This one, cutiefly and MAYBE the meteor that turns into star bits.
LOOK, IT'S AN ORCHID MANTIS AND IT'S FRICKING PINK. Loved it.

you do realize there's more than one kind of mantis out there
and that Lurantis is an orchid mantis specifically. and Leavanny is based off of a hood mantis.
That's like saying making another bird Pokemon is replacing all of the other bird Pokemon

WEll, it was quite a surprise that this one isn't a bug type, I even thought on a silly theory!
The orchid mantis is a bug that uses your white ans pink pattern to mimic some flowers patter, like orchids
HOWEVER! It have some cases of mimicry on orchids. Some orchids have the shape and colours making them looking like bugs, working very well for polinization.
So I'm really thinking about that, even if this pokemon is clearly based on a orchid mantis, if,on this case, is actually a plant that is micrying a bug! But I dunno if it makes 100% of sense at all.

Maybe you can make it work- I'm already nailing in my head Tanystropheos Alolan Exeggutor which was a silly though at first, but then I found it could work.
Maybe you need some time and some research
I'm sure this can work 100% on Flomantis, which reminds me of Budew honestly in its shape. Or a Petilil.
