'Sometimes I get the feeling Bailey and Teddy can't sleep on the bed when I'm in it because there's already another dog there'
Christmas picture for my sister, based on a comment she made that utterly tore my heart out of my chest. Our dog passed away last year and the anniversary is always a little difficult.
It's nice to know he's never far from her side.

Ohhh my heart *clenches fist to chest* I've been pet sitting to save funds for my next step and even though most of the dogs sleep in the bed with me I can tell they miss their 'parents' after a few days.

I miss my old dog, his name was Luke, and he was a Golden Retriever. Such a good boy, he passed away when he was I believe about twelve years old. I had him most of my life, so I don't know his exact age, but shortly after I had moved, one night he was having seizures at about midnight. My dad had me lead him outside so he could be outdoors while my dad would look for a veterinarian that would be open at this time. I don't know how he did this, but he managed to get away from me, and several days later he was found in our neighbor's lake.
We believe that he was walking past the lake along the edge when he was hit with another seizure, and then drowned. We buried him in the backyard, he really was a good boy, and I miss him to this day.

This is really beautiful. I can understand how it feels losing a pet, especially a dog--my family had a beautiful dog named "Nipper" (a nickname my maternal grandfather got when he was alive), who was a mix between a purebred Golden Retriever (her mother) and a purebred Labrador Retriever that was all black (her father), though she looked exactly like a Golden Retriever. We had gotten her as a puppy and had to have her put to sleep in February of 2016, when she was 13-years and four months. I know it was for the best (she was suffering from some health issues), but I still miss her sometimes.
