Homework for LASALLE College of the Arts: Body frames in various poses. It was so much ridiculous fun I could have gone on for hours.

Sure you can, though they were done from memory so the anatomy may not be all that good!

I would use actual photos for pose references, but I don't see why not.

can these poses be learn from a anatomy artwork ? or an inspiration from clopin artwork ? >< my drawing seems to be stiff all the time , hoping to draw the characters as smooth as yours ~

quartervirus-archive In reply to zukoroHellFlute [2012-07-02 17:07:08 +0000 UTC]

This is just one technique to create fluid motion in bodies. Start with loose frames like this before adding details, it's what I usually do.

zukoroHellFlute In reply to quartervirus-archive [2012-07-06 06:10:49 +0000 UTC]

is there any books or series that teach that ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

quartervirus-archive In reply to zukoroHellFlute [2012-07-06 08:21:16 +0000 UTC]

Most art books will tell you to break the body down into shapes before adding details. I was self taught, and then went to art schools, so most of what I learned is via word-of-mouth.

Riddlerhawk21 [2012-04-19 03:45:57 +0000 UTC]

really awesome work

would you say that drawing bodies this way is easier or harder than with circles

and how did you learn this way of drawing bodies, i've been practicing for a few months on body sketch and i yet to find the confidents to do the legs

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

quartervirus-archive In reply to Riddlerhawk21 [2012-04-19 13:24:46 +0000 UTC]

I've learned to draw since I was small simply by observing people from life and drawing what I see. I have a pair of legs of my own if there are ever no references around.

As for the boxes, I personally find boxes come more naturally to me, because my style is already fairly angular.

are you graded on your sketches?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

quartervirus-archive In reply to skullgrrl5teen [2012-04-15 02:25:59 +0000 UTC]

Yes. The level of detail/drawing technique and our proportions/anatomy.

Wow! These are really great! I tried sketching in front of the mirror and doing all kinds of poses, but my work is much "cartoonish" than yours.. -.-

Congrats!

Very helpful I have to do these too, but I'm so used to drawing my figures with circles, my brain gets confused when I try to draw frames like these

Anyway, next year I'll start the Fine Art degree in my university (just one more year in highschool!!!) 'cause I want to be a film director, and your drawings inspired me to improve mine before I start.

I've seen all of your gallery and I'm speechless. You're a great artist.

quartervirus-archive In reply to codyconnor [2011-08-22 02:38:32 +0000 UTC]

codyconnor In reply to quartervirus-archive [2011-08-23 22:14:36 +0000 UTC]

ok sorry is just that i like it and i used it now and it works alot better for the frame of the body for me instead of a couple circles and lines thanks anyways.
