Riverfell's Theme Song ( Emerald Princess - TSFH)
Riverfell exists far to the West; nestled between lush forested peaks and rolling, grassy hills and moorlands. In the Southwestern portion of the territory, a pristine lake sparkles at the foot of snow-covered mountains. It is full of fish and freshwater that keep the creatures of Riverfell from ever going hungry or thirsty. Through the heart of the territory, a large flowing river travels down from the North and if followed, leads all the way to the ocean.
Riverfell is a very green and fertile place dotted with streams, pools, waterfalls, and other natural bodies of freshwater thanks to plentiful storms and rain/run-off from the mountains. Summers are warm and humid while winters can sometimes be mild, though are most often snowy and typical for the Domain. The further North you travel, the greener the land seems to become, as the warmer air from the ocean keeps the air moist. You need to travel to the Southern borders of the territory to find snow-capped mountains and drier moorlands. Overall, it is believed that Siamsa chose a beautiful, plentiful area in which to nest -- another sign that she is indeed, their true Savior.

Arriving at The Citadels - Welcome to Riverfell / (One Million Voices)
- twin mountain peaks mark the Eastern entrance to Riverfell's territory (photo inspiration ).
- there's an age-old argument amongst Riverfell wolves about who is larger -- Big Brother or Little Sister.
- for Outsiders journeying from the East, the easiest way to gain access to Riverfell is to pass beneath the watchful gaze of The Citadels.
- aspiring Hunters are tasked with hunting elusive mountain goats for their Alpha Trial that can only be found along the Citadel's mountain ranges.
Trading Posts (North, South, and East locations)
- wolves (be them Loner or pack wolf) interested in trading or bartering at the posts, must wait at one of them and extend a howl to announce their location.
- any female wolf seeking refuge to have her pups may use the posts to contact a Riverfell wolf.
- wolves seeking to employ a Gold Feather wolf may also use a trading post to announce their interest and location.
- items sought after by Riverfell wolves: foreign prey (elk, pheasants, and big horn sheep), antlers and colorful stones, herbs not native to Riverfell, loose vines or long strips of animal hide (used for dancing)
- North trading post is typically used when trading with wolves of Tentaka. The post itself is a large tree in the middle of the grassy meadow just beyond Riverfell's Northern border. The tree has been marked with both the scent of Riverfell's traders and the sharp streaks of their claws upon the bark (photo inspiration ).
- East trading post is typically used when trading with wolves of Damasca. The post itself is a collection of flat boulders just beyond Riverfell's Eastern border. The area around the boulders is always marked with the scent of Riverfell's traders, as well as scored with their claws (photo inspiration ).
- South trading post is typically used when trading with wolves of Chandor. It is the only trading post located within Riverfell's borders. The post itself is a small meadow pond surrounded by wildflowers. The area is always marked with the scent of Riverfell's traders, as well as adorned with bits of antler and bone near the water's edge (photo inspiration ).
Murag's Island
Murag's Island (Gives Me the Creeps)
- a small island exists in the middle of an alligator-infested pond East of the main den site (photo inspiration ).
- Murag**, the pond's oldest and largest alligator, lives on the island. All Riverfell wolves (except Sages) are warned to stay away from Murag and his family despite Riverfell's truce with the territory's predators, due to their unpredictable behavior.
- aspiring Sages are tasked with journeying to Murag's Island and retrieving a bundle of the much sought-after feverfew herb (one of the only areas it grows within the territory). Only Sages are allowed to step foot upon the island, as Murag was once saved by one of Riverfell's Sages and grants them access to the herbs they need in exchange for a sacrifice; typically small game like rabbits and young deer will suffice.**
** all "other creatures" are considered NPCs (non-playable characters) unless owned by an official player. This means that NPC alligators, including Murag, do not "speak" to the wolves or interact beyond small actions/reactions.
Cloudfall
Cloudfall (Flight Over Alps)
- moisture and precipitation from the Southern winds of the Domain produce what the wolves call "Cloudfall" (photo inspiration ).
- a waterfall of clouds spill over a small mountain range to the East (video of this phenomenon)
- it is a mysterious place that is often avoided by most creatures
- aspiring Warriors are tasked with journeying through Cloudfall and discovering its secrets during their Alpha Trial.
Otter Point
Otter Point (Carmine Bee Eaters)
- river otter colonies exist here, as the waters are deepest (and sometimes marshy near the shore) and fish are plentiful (photo inspiration ).
- otters are considered a "protected predator" within Riverfell, so they are not to be harmed or hunted.
- Riverfell wolves may sometimes trade with the otters.** The otters provide fish and crayfish, while the wolves provide birds, eggs, and smooth mountain stones (otters like to play with stones!).
** all "other creatures" are considered NPCs (non-playable characters) unless owned by an official player. This means that NPC otters do not "speak" to the wolves or interact beyond small actions/reactions.
Thunder Hills
Thunder Hills (Hunting Buffalo Herds)
- wild horses occupy a vast range of land just beyond Riverfell's borders and across the Sea's Tail River to the North. (photo inspiration )
- wolves typically avoid these animals as they are large, protective of their herd, and dangerous. Regardless, when prey is scarce, the Hunters may attempt to hunt the horses in winter.
Highwood Springs
A Long Soak (Besaid Island)
- surrounded by tall, skinny pine trees, a hidden hot spring bubbles in the stony hills to the Southwest of the main den site (photo inspiration ).
- Riverfell wolves may visit the Springs year-round, as the waters always run hot. It is a place to relax and rejuvenate. Young Feathers in training will often visit the Springs after a long day and soak as a form of healing and recovery.
- Elder wolves will frequent the Springs as a form of physical therapy to alleviate joint and muscle pain.
Valley of the Fallen
Valley of the Fallen (Breathe)
- the same source of moisture that produces Cloudfall to the South, also provides the Valley of the Fallen with nearly perpetual, year-round overcast conditions (photo inspiration ).
- a legend exists that the Valley was once the location of a great battle between wolf and "monster." Some wolves believe the monsters were mountain lions, others believe they were bears. No one knows for certain, but many lost their lives. More info on this legend is coming soon!
Emerald Forest
Emerald Forest (Marian at the Waterfall)
- vast, lush, and green, this forest is full of life. Finding a more beautiful place within Riverfell would be a challenge (photo inspiration ).
- streams, waterfalls, and other natural water sources can be found all throughout the forest (photo inspiration ).
- because of the abundance of moisture, moss grows plentiful in some areas nearest to the mountains (photo inspiration ).
Sea's Tail River
Following the Sea's Tail (The Rowan Tree Trilogy)
- this winding river crawls through the heart of Riverfell's territory and earned its name from the fact that if followed, it connects to a larger river that eventually meets the ocean far to the North.
Battle of Sea's Tail River
Farewell to the Fallen (Hymn to the Sea)
- newly designated as hallowed grounds following the conclusion of the Hive Wars (photo inspiration ).
- these vast fields are where the wolves of Riverfell took their last stand against the unexpected invasion of General Sledge's Hive forces . History was made when Vektren's reinforcements arrived , leading to a victory for both Riverfell and the Domain.
- those that remember the fields prior to the invasion may notice the once lush and green land has taken a mysteriously duller tone. It could be purely psychological, as no other impacts have been noted.
Nest of Siamsa
The Golden Eagle (Freya's Theme)
- a sacred place and nesting ground for a family of golden eagles that are believed to be descendants of Siamsa herself (photo inspiration ).
- aspiring Gold Feathers that successfully earn their feathers must venture to the Nest of Siamsa. There, they choose their own feathers that have fallen to the ground from the nest above.
Lake of Stars
Lake of Stars (Two Hearts)
- a crystal clear lake full of fresh fish and water fowl (photo inspiration)
- Riverfell wolves use the lake for training, weddings , and hosting Quarter Feasts and other celebrations.
