This was the scene that I most wanted to make happen. In the first season, Cheryl comes down a staircase dressed in this super dramatic red dressing gown with a lit candelabra in her hands to her brother's casket surrounded by lit candles (it's a dream sequence), and it's freaking gorgeous. I didn't have any staircases to work with, but I figured I could at least get the feel if I had the red outfit and the candelabra. The dressing gown was surprisingly difficult to locate. I had the perfect style one in black, but it obviously wouldn't do if it wasn't in red, and thankfully I ended up finding this vintage one on Etsy for a reasonable price! Jughead narrates this scene and calls Cheryl a "gothic heroine" and no surprise, maybe that's why she interests me so much as a character. It was really fun to recreate this scene even though we spilled wax everywhere, and Lauren was incredible and powered through having hot wax dripping down her hands in order to capture the scene. Definitely some of my favorite shots of the day!
