The deer strode out in to the field, the light was just beginning to seep onto the grass around her. The field was mostly dead, and full of cold-blistered plants. She looked up into the early morning light and felt for the beat of her heart with her icy fingers. Her eyes met with a beam of light, and a surge of warmness flooded her body. She would be able to tell her clan that it would soon be Spring and the wrath of Winter would be behind them.
