Tails had heard the rumours of the wishing powers of the Master Emerald. He had mentioned it to his friends, all warning him that it wasn't worth it. Powerful wishes always have a way of being twisted to something worse, no matter how carefully you choose your words.

That didn't stop Tails. He was sick of just being Sonic's sidekick. He wanted to be a hero of his own. Go on his own adventures. So, while Knuckles was asleep, Tails approached the Master Emerald. A simple wish. One that could not be misinterpreted, right?

'I wish to be more than Sonic's sidekick.'

Then, nothing happened. Tails, dejected, returned to his lab and went to sleep. I will always be Sonic's sidekick. Nothing more. That night, he dreamed that he was having a tea party with Cream. Often, he would humour her, pretending to enjoy them. This time, he was enjoying it. And he could not put his finger on why.

The next morning, Tails could have sworn that his bed had gotten smaller. No. He had gotten bigger. He gave a stunted, high-pitched shriek at the sight of two lumps under the sheets where his chest ought to be. He took his sheets off and discovered that he had breasts.

He never kept a mirror in his lab. He saw no use to it. He was, however, meticulous with cleaning the Tornado. The surface of the bi-plane was clean enough that he could make out his own reflection. This time, he did not shriek. For he feared the sound that would come out of his undeniably female throat.

Staring back at him was a fully grown, voluptuous woman. She had orange and white fur, as well as two giant tails. He was still him, but...female. No doubt this was the work of the Master Emerald, but how could it have possibly misinterpreted his wish like this? Woman or not, I'm still Sonic's sidekick.

Tails explained to Sonic and Knuckles what had happened. He expected an "I told you so," but, instead, he got two very warm hugs. That's what he liked about his friends. Endlessly supportive. Then, Tails got an alert on his device. Eggman was attacking.

Tails flew them and the Tornado to the attack. Sonic and Knuckles attacked Dr. Eggman's robots on the ground, while Tails fought in the air. The Tornado was not used to having this much weight on it, and was hit directly by one of Eggman's missiles. The plane crashed, and everything went black.

The next thing he saw, was Sonic, giving him mouth to mouth. He had never looked as heroic or as beautiful to Tails as he did now. The sun bounced off of his shimmering, blue eyes. Tails realized that he liked the feel of Sonic's lips on his.

'Are you okay, Tails?'

'I think...I'm in love with you.'

Sonic gave a brief chuckle. Oh no. What did I do? Then, the blue hedgehog obviously noticed that he wasn't joking. Sonic's expression turned serious, then something Tails didn't recognize. The next thing he knew, Sonic's lips were on his, again.

Then, it dawned on Talia. She wished to be more than Sonic's sidekick, so she became Sonic's lover. Her friends were wrong about one thing, though. The wish had not been twisted to something worse. Sonic picked up and Talia and ran her back to the lab. What happened when they got there can only be speculated on.
