Only if it is used in a stupid and/or evil manner. It can also restore destroyed foliage, which means that it can act as the exact opposite. Don't even get me started on the necessity of the sun/moon cycle!

Can't argue with that statement. I ain't a fan of magic either. Way too Deus Ex Machina and some uses of it are just taboo to me. Though I do like combat magic and illusion magic if it's used right.

That's funny coming from the giant dragon who's very existence, let alone ability to fly, flies in the face of the square cube law. Either magic has to be involved or dragons must be as physically sturdy as a zeppelin.
