Rarity: Common in native caverns (Silver Wind caverns), Extremely rare in the Eastern Caverns, non-existent in the 99
Habitat: They usually like to live in caves and cracks in canyon like walls with easy access to the sky and usually roost up high in the rocks or in trees on cliff tops, like in mountains and rocky oceansides where the breeze is stronger. They migrate in the early beginnings of winter to warmer climate and then nest in forests and jungles until spring where they migrate back to the canyons
Description of species:
Protoform- Always a silver color and bird like features with sharp, featherless webbed wings much like the hover bug that turn into feathers and blades when velocity is reached. They have a serrated hooked beak and three blades, two acting as eyebrows the jut out to the sides and one curving over the center of the head and jutting out. Seven little spikes on the underbelly and three feathers (normally primary colors) on the tail.
Velocimorph- A hawk like bird with a wedge shaped head with bladed eyebrows that stretch from the point of the beak to the back of the head. Slim body, long slim neck, agile movements three toes (two in front, one in back). Blade like feathers. Blades stick out of tail feathers and wings, acting as swords or projectile spines.
Protoform Ability: can fly, carry messages, can mimic only bird like cries
Abilities:
fast/agile flyers, deafening eagle screech
full sense of directions (north, east, south, west)
can zoom in vision on prey like binoculars from miles away
shoot regenerating blades from wings and tail feathers and use two long blades like sword at tips of the wings
bends the surrounding air into barriers or wave like pulses or mini dust devils (for only a few seconds)
claps wings together to make a sonic boom like clap
Attacks:
Blade Buster Bluster- Uses the air around it to make a knife sharp like wave of air to knock back or slice through wooden objects or creates a tiny dust devil to confuse and distract the opponent for only a few seconds, allowing a quick escape
Sonic Clap- Claps wings together to make a loud boom to confuse and blow back all opponents in a ten yard radius about the source of the clap. Those within the orb of sound will not suffer the effect of the clap
Dual Strike- two dual blade feathers stick out the tip of the longest feather of each wing and are used as blades that can leave long but thin gashes in trees and metal (can not take down an entire tree or through metal thicker than five inches
Pierscreech- lets out a deafening eagle cry that affects all those who are in the area and deafens them momentarily (special ear muffs are suggested for long exposure or repeated use of this attack to avoid damage to the ears)
Edge Spread- shoots out one wave of solid steel blades (9 inches in length) formed from the under row of feathers in every direction but forward
Pivision- zooms in on target up to three miles away with binocular like vision (only megamorphs with a strong bond to their user can share their sight with their slinger telepathically and let them see through their eyes)
