Squash blossom necklaces were first made by the Navajo in the late 1800s. Lived in New Mexico close to the Navajo reservation, this is the jewelry I grew up wearing. In fact my dad was a traveling turquoise jewelry dealer and had 3 Navajo silversmiths making jewelry to sell to trading post establishments from New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, and California. 🐶🤠nmp
