Before me stands a forest.Chocolate in color, rich in shadow.
Beautiful in the setting sun,
extravagant.
Concealing.
The rosy ball of flame on the horizon
flashes it's streams of light across the barren trees,
complementing it's dark warmth.
The rivers of color snake across the sky
while in the distance behind me,
I see the moon slowly traversing the heavens.
Before me stands a forest.
Chocolate in color, rich in shadow.
Concealing.
I do not trust in which is alluring,
but lies in the darkness.
Beautiful but barren.
The silkiness of the darkness surrounds me
as I lightly tread in the fallen snow.
The miniscule crystals refract the light of the setting sun,
casting a rainbow of light across my face.
I squint.
Beautiful but barren,
the chocolate in color forest
looms before me.
I do not trust in which is alluring,
but is rich in darkness.
It pulls me forward,
tugging me deep into the depths.
Before I know it,
the barren trees surround me.
I am a part of the forest.
Beautiful on the outside.
Dark on the inside.
That is simply nature.
