ETA: Here's a version using a pencil drawing in the head instead of the photograph! i.imgur.com/tS3dsv2.jpg

I started by making a pencil sketch, then added a modified anatomical drawing from 1871, a modified scenic photograph (unfortunately I lost the source), and digital coloring.

I'm really loving this...especially because of the anatomical drawings. Having read Hannibal Rising, I was immediately reminded of Hannibal's artwork...

Thank you for the lovely comment! I suppose I should read Hannibal Rising... I hear bad things about it, and I was pretty unimpressed with the movie, but I enjoyed Hannibal which was a similarly maligned book...Β  HMM.

Hannibal Rising is my favourite book of them all, actually. I wanted to learn about Hannibal's past, and there we go! Hannibal was just a little bit lower in my favouritism.
