Characters need good and strong chemistry between them.... as much as Mako and Korra didn't share this chemistry, Tarrlock and Korra DID. Although it was a negative chemistry, based on strong negative meotions, it was still very clear and visible...and that's what made this ship attractive. The same was the chemistry between Korra and Bolin on their date, or between Korra and Tahno

I completely agree. There was just... NOTHING between Mako and Korra, and I think that's one of the things that bothers me most about that pairing. There's just... nothing. They don't even seem like that close of friends to me. Especially not when compared to Bolin and Korra (At least in the earlier episodes when they were focusing more on character development and not story development, haha). And yeah, even Tahno and Korra had more chemistry than Mako and Korra. I think Mike and Bryan fell pretty flat on their faces with this pairing.
And besides, Korra/Tarrlok has some of the best, most heartbreaking fics and art, haha. I think I'm gonna be firmly entrenched in this ship for a while.

me too and i was so happy the ship (the pair or whatever you call it) finally came true....when he said i love you i was like aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh and then when korra's bending got taken away i started bawling and she wa so depressed and i was right aang was an attractive man (lol i kinda guess that from the intro) and she got her bending back and she was all like I AM BOSS AND I AM AVATAR and i was like YOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH...... and yea

It's from Legend of Korra, which is the sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender. They're both really fantastic shows, although I have to admit, I think I dig LoK more. And you could definitely watch it without watching A:tla (Which is super long, whereas the first season of Korra, which finished recently, is only 12 episodes long) first. I highly recommend both of them.
