For a goodguy, Snake Eyes was the epitome of cool. He and Duke were about the only Joes I liked.

I favored the badguys any day of the week, and the fact that they lost EVERY SINGLE BATTLE really hacked me off when I was little.

Piffle to that. I still like Serpentor.

They may have lost every battle, but they kept trying ... and how 'bout those pilots, always able to eject JUST before the missile hits? Those Cobra soldiers must have cat like reflexes

Freaking awesome!!! I love ninjas as well, and Snake Eyes is one of the best.
Great pose.

Snake Eyes has always been my favorite and this is absolutely awesome.

When I was a kid, I always knew Snake Eyes could take on the Justice Legue single handedly ... and with style ... it helps being cool.

I think that's why so many of the protagonists in my stories are the "strong silent type" ... and could also explain my affection for swords over guns (aside from them not being as clumsy or random as a blaster, but a more elegant weapon for a more civilized day.)

I agree completely.. I've also been highly found of bladed objects over guns. So much more skill required.

My parents didn't let me watch GI Joe because it perpetuated the myth of war being a good guy/bad guy deal. I think they just didn't want to buy the toys

Awesome pic, the pose is wicked and the simple circle sets it off nicely. Needs the words "Knowing is half the battle!" emblazoned across it though

Ninja power, man! You did awesome work with the anatomy, considering that the clothes Jade was wearing hid basicly all the details (except the great pose). I love the shading on his legs and abs. *is a sucker for abs* The helmet's also very neat.
Good job, over all! (^_^)-b

Thanks, I just kind of went with the flow of things. The only part that I'm not entirely happy with would be the left (pointed) foot ... but other than that

QuestingRaven In reply to candiice [2006-10-23 17:04:34 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, I didn't have much to work on anatomy wise (though Jade's pose is great, the layers of bulky clothing really hid any anatomical detail), so I just had to wing it

Heath Ledger has the face and build for it, and has shown that he is willing to go through training for fight scenes. ... It's a possibility.

KurtBelcher1 In reply to QuestingRaven [2006-10-24 21:05:00 +0000 UTC]

I dunno, I think it may require someone with some deep martial arts training. Although some people can do it pretty convincingly with not a huge amount of training, like with Matt Damon in the "Bourne" films. Guess it just depends. Hmmm...

AngelCrusher [2006-10-20 20:15:15 +0000 UTC]

This is an awesome sketch and pose buddy. I think if you just add more colour to the background, maybe a red on the circle or the space around the circle to really make snake eyes pop out.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

QuestingRaven In reply to AngelCrusher [2006-10-23 17:02:40 +0000 UTC]

I was afraid that to much color would detract from the intensity of the B&W work. Who knows, I might just play with this more later

It's to bad the cartoon (which was a staple in my growing up years) never included the Snake Eyes / Storm Shadow interraction, or the Scarlet/Snake Eyes relationship.

Oniwaban In reply to QuestingRaven [2006-10-23 17:19:58 +0000 UTC]

Agreed. It would have added a tremendous level of depth to the show.
