Description Inspired by  's fantastic hunger game parody for where Ember's having a conversation with the skull she usually has around her neck.

All I could think of was scar talking to the skull in the TLK cdn3.teen.com/wp-content/uploa…
So I made my own version.

The skull is probably bigger than what a kingfisher should be, and parts of the body are weird lookin...but I dont care lol. It was more for a laugh than accuracy.
I also like the sleek evil regal look for her, thinking I'll keep it. Fits an absynnian too. ^.^

Apparently it's sketchy season for me.

Does this remind anyone else of the ice age part with buck?

Thanks! :: Trying to round out her personality in my mind, and I think the scar (minus the Macbeth syndrome) is a pretty good fit for her. I just had too much fun drawing it.

I know, I was giggling the whole time while drawing this. And it just suits her so perfectly.

I really does!

(I really like your drawing style btw, even in sketch form) I've been trying to accomplish what you have here for quite a while now (a character that looks realistic and fairly proportial to real life, while still being expressive and able to portray human facial expressions).  I'm having so much difficulty though.  I can't seem to draw my character in such a way without making it too cartoony. >~<"

Thankyou! It's actually very nice to hear that.
Im actually still stumbling around trying to find a style Im happy with, but Ive conceded that I do have a recognisable way of drawing and worrying about looking certain ways is just keeping me from trying. I use reference pictures for everything which I should start moving away from, but also why I generally go for realism vs more animated looks....I just have some immense fear of a blank page and my capabilities (which sounds absurd) so I stick close to what I see. I'm that person who absolutely hates abstraction LOL. The eyes are about all I play with to give animals expression, so I do tend to try my best at being expressive with them (I find body language tough with animals).

This one I went a little out of the box and made her a little more extreme....but I have Disney to thank for that reference. It actually turned out better than I first thought. ^.^

quietlittleleaf.deviantart.com… is probably the best ex at how I go, I collage a buncha stuff to give me a general ref, then start sketching. I'll have to make a more recent one.

Thank you for the advice (and you're welcome).  My "drawing process " is actually quite similar to yours.  I hate abstract drawing.  I also often collage pictures together to try to find a pose I like.  I can never draw anything realistic without studying a photo(and even then I mess up often).  I can't seem to find a drawing style of my own, what with so many out there I'm trying not to copy.  I figured most artists developed a style based on...well, how their eye naturally sees things or how their hand naturally moves. Unfortunately I've realized just how wrong I was... >~<"
