This year… was kind of a dry one for art, more than I would have liked. I at least managed to draw something every month, but I have a lot of unfinished wips I never got around to, much less ideas that I never made time to draw. Some of it was definitely distraction - I could probably have stood to play less final fantasy this year, let’s be real - but a not-small reason was also just… general burnout. This year I’ve had to balance a job that wants me commuting back to the office full time with a number of stressful developments outside work, and all that left me without much creative energy.

That said, I’m pretty happy with the art I did put out this year. In some months I had trouble picking which drawings to showcase because I like everything I drew that month so much. I may not have as much art to show for myself this year, comparatively, but I can’t think of a single piece where I came away disappointed with the finished product or felt I wasn’t able to capture the thing in my head. That’s worth something, right?

Hoping that in the new year I’ll be able to get my work-life balance back to acceptable levels and start making more time for art. There’s a lot of things I’m excited about coming up, so the fanart will probably keep coming!
