I can hardly believe it's been two years since I finished Gurren Lagann and hopped on a plane for Israel. I feel like I've known this series for a lot longer than that. I can't imagine what I would have done that day in the desert if I hadn't had Kamina's words beating through my brain to keep me going. Gurren Lagann has had a visible influence on my art style, affected the way I see the world, boosted my self-confidence, and inspired half the original things I've done in the past two years. I can't even imagine what my life would be like without this series; that's how ridiculous of an impact it's had on me. I finished it two years ago but I still love every character, every arc, everything about it with all my heart. Even Rossiu.

Decided to do something different from last year's . I mean yeah I still think of Simon and Magu as a couple, but definitely not as often (or as openly lol). This year, therefore, I wanted to do something involving Kamina. After all, Kamina was the one who got me interested in this series (even though the first episode I saw was 4). His wisdom has stayed with me even when other things have come and gone. He may be a fictional character, but I truly owe a lot of who I am to him. That's why I drew this.

Artwise, I know I've used that background before, but I got this idea and ran with it. Originally they were gonna face the opposite direction but Kamina's hair is a bitch from that angle so I changed my mind.
How do I anatomy? I mean I had a reference but

June 13 '09 = day I finally got off my ass and finished
So that's why I draw two of these things a year
