Phew boy this is....something.The 'Before' piece is something never seen on my deviantART as it was drawn WAY before I even set up my account on deviantART.
I think I found this picture a few years ago, cringed, took a photo of it...then threw it out lol. Searching through my photos I stumbled across it yet again and just thought it would be fun to re-draw it...and wow what a difference. I mean, considering the first one was drawn when I was *cough* 17 *cough* the change isn't THAT dramatic but hey I am self-taught in drawing in the anime style and the differences between the two is pretty noticeable. And how do I know this photo is 13 years old? I had drawn this with the intention of giving it to a university student who was tutoring me during my A Levels...I obviously chickened out lol
What have I learned in those 13 years? Reference pictures are your friend. Don't feel you're not 'testing' yourself or working hard enough if you want to use references. I think as long as you not down-right copying art work it's fine
