is it possible to use plaster of paris?

I have only used plaster of paris to pour into molds. It would be challenging to sculpt over a wire and foil armature with it, but if you could sculpt a critter out of something else, it would work either to make a mold out of or to make casts from the mold out of.
If you give it a try, I'd love to see!

i was wondering if this could be applied to make other creatures? it may sound like a stupid question, but i don't want to use your tutorial for something else with out your permission. i was thinking to do a Griffen or something.

the only clay I am able to get is biscuit, also known as cold porcelain; do you reccomend it for this kind of sculpture? because I really want to start making dragons but I don't feel secure about the clay :/

I do! lol
I guess in my case, i need to bake my clay figure without the cellophane and apply it after.
Hmmm a harpy sounds like a good idea.

Oh! Oh! Make a harpy! That would be awesome, especially in your style.
I still want to try baking these finny wingy things and see just what happens...

I was thinking of getting darker colored cellophane to make wings for them... sorta like bat wings I guess

Doooooo Iiiiiiiiit!
I would love to them!
If you were going for a more realistic, fleshy type wing, you could do something similar to the wings on my other dragons? Which I really need to do a separate tutorial on...

Nicely done! Out of curiosity, you mention that if your dragon has wings, you often wait to add them until the painting is done. How do you go about attaching the wings at that point?
The dragon is also an intriguing-looking little fellow. I'm going to have to take a better look through your gallery when I get home tonight - really lovely work!

That makes sense, thank you! I've just recently started getting back into sculpting, going the polymer clay route. Here is one of the sculptures I did recently - having a lot of fun with these little fellows! I'm liking your technique - I've been trying to figure out a good way to sculpt a whole dragon rather than just pieces in an egg. Your pieces are beautifully detailed!
