Description 'Dark Chapel' is a fictitious village in Cheshire, England and came about when there was a need for a non-doxxing address to substitute into a shot of a Halloween envelope.
Dark Chapel is the home of the sinister, the uncanny, the plain Lovecraftian; the Addamses would be one of the tamer families, if they lived here.
It's quite apt that most of the image modifications here were made in Gimp.

This part of 'Dark Chapel' is in Congleton, Cheshire and the alleged eatery opposite, Casa Dei Cuori Perduti*, does NOT admit to being an Italian vampire restaurant in real life.

The outline on the ceiling, inspired by Fritz Leiber's story 'The Jewels In The Forest' is very similar to a logo used for the TV music show The Old Grey Whistle Test

[EDIT] I've been asked "why on the ceiling?"

My Answer: It was a VERY strange crime?

The idea was faintly based on a house in a Fritz Lieber low fantasy story, The Jewels In The Forest. Spoiler Alert: the building isΒ  a homicidally sentient trap, the walls and ceiling elastically capable of crushing anybody who enters.

Anyway. If the building lands on you because you haven't swept properly, or maybe you were dancing immoderately in its mews entrance or relieving yourself up a quiet wall as you wander home after the pubs have closed, and the building (quite naturally to my mind) took exception, where might the body end up? Perhaps this is a Murderous Architecture equivalent of spinach in your teeth.

Then again, tensions have been high among the staff at the Dark Chapel glue factory. Some sort of schism in the hierarchy of The Sticklers, the glue makers guild, could have lead to the choosing of 'Mordecais', guild enforcers, and a failing adherent being hung "higher than Haman"** . Note hung, not hanged. "Meat is hung, men*** are hanged", but the latter seems to lead to the former in short order.

*That's not its name either. The name, The House Of Lost Hearts (or thereabouts) is inspired by the M.R. James ghost story, Lost Hearts.

**Technically a distance greater than 50 cubits (approx 74' or 22.5m) but you have to take into account modern requirements for Health and Safety.

**Mortality is an equal opportunities outcome.
