Description

Rarity is known all throughout Equestria for her work in the fashion industry, from Canterlot to Manehatten and the Crystal Empire. Her title as the Element of Generosity and close friend to Princess Twilight has only made her more of an influential pony in the fashion and art world. Although, contrary to popular belief, the mare's special talent doesn't lie with making clothing - its in geology and locating large growths of gemstones underground. Using the stones as accents on her pieces is just what Rarity chooses to do with them. She's spent years practicing her mining and locating skills in order to get the stones she needs for her works.

Rarity is a very elegant pony, and after she earned her cutie mark, started idolizing the rich and famous of Canterlot more and more. Sure, Ponyville was...nice, but a mare of her talents would surely find more fame and fortune in the big city! Seeing her clear passion for fashion, Rarity's parents helped her find a place in Ponyville to use as a studio/store once she was old enough. Rarity then steadily honed her craft in her humble home town. After meeting Twilight and being properly introduced to the other 5, she started getting a little bit more attention in the upscale art community.

Before long, Rarity met Coco Pommel, a soft-spoken but talented seamstress of a mare. After the incident in Manehatten, the two of them kept in touch, often writing to each other or visiting on days off. The two came to trust each other so much that when Rarity offered to give Coco a management position at her Manehatten store, she quickly said yes. In contrast, Sassy Saddles was actually the one to approach Rarity about helping her in the Canterlot Boutique, somewhat desperate to get another fashion line on the map after losing another job. While she is very business oriented, spending time with Rarity helped Sassy unlearn some of her more controlling tendencies.

Before long, Rarity found herself in a bit of a situation - she was hopelessly in love with both branch managers of her stores! Who would she choose? What would happen if she dated one but not the other? Would a jealousy arise??...Honestly the whole thing was right out of a cheesey soap opera, and Rarity made sure to talk the ears off of any of the othe rMane Six who dared to ask about the situation. After a while though, Pinkie just straight up asked "Why do have to choose between the two of them?" and, well, that got Rarity thinking. Did she have to/want to choose?

So, the three of them started dating! Rarity, Sassy, and Coco all love and support one another, and often help if one of them starts a personal fashion project on the side. Sassy and Coco love each other and their dramatic wife, and Raity loves both of them.

Sweetie Belle is a little over 10 years younger than Rarity, which often made it hard for them to find common ground and interests. But, eventually the two of them were able to find some overlapping interests - the two of them absolutely adore the theater, musicals especially. As an adult, Sweetie Belle becomes a semi-famous singer, and during her tours she travels all over Equestria and beyond. Rarity is often the one behind her sister's amazing outfits on stage.

Rarity's herd had their first foal, Velour Vanity, about 3 years after the three of them got married. About ten years later, they had a son, Gingham Glow. All three of them love their two kiddos very much.
