Description

The Cheops-class destroyer is the backbone of the Imperial fleet, and an allegory to the Pharaoh's dominion across Imperial Space. With its twin Thoth heavy cannons and an array of regular cannon batteries, it more than makes up in combat and resilience what it lacks in speed and mobility: it is designed to take a serious beating, and can retaliate with just as much force.

Trivia: The design is based on that of the Ancient triremes, large boats in which dozens of slaves were rounded up to pull on long oars to propel the ship.

It's based on the name of the Egyptian god of wisdom and knowledge, and I gave them that name before I knew about the meme.

Really nice design. Looks like an Imperial warship from W40k with inspiration from the Goa'uld from Stargate.

"Buttresses"? "Warp wards"? I don't know what you mean...

buttresses are those structures on the side of imperial ships that make them look like cathedrals, warp wards are basically part of the overly ornate design that helps fight off the daemons of the warp.

As I said before, Warhammer had NOTHING to do with the inspiration I got for this design. Look up "trireme" in Wikipedia.

Just thought. With what I assume to be the bridge and the main cannon having exactly the same shade blue and glow as the engines, it looks like you have a pair of front facing engines. Maybe a different shade of blue, or some sort of texture?

It simply means both use the same kind of energy to run. But the criticism is appreciated.

Nice. The prow reminds me a bit of Imperial Navy ships from 40k, but still I can clearly see the roman/greek influences.

I thought this was a Warhammer 40k ship too.

Never been interested in Warhammer, so I can't say I was inspired by that.

he's right. it looks like Retribution-class but i see there also something from Honoverse (Honor Harrington book series from David Weber).
