Still you seem to do quite well to find the basic shapes and colours that are needed to convey the image to viewer. If you can do it, it's quite the magic, because the more you leave to the imagination of the viewer while making your content clear, the more intense and personal the impression will be.

I've struggled with this a lot because 3D creates a kind of pseudo-realism that is very stifling for storytelling purposes.

I try to avoid it were possible, but I still haven't come up with the all-delivering solution here.

Anyway you're doing very well with your style in that department, that's why it's so fascinating and lends itself well for storytelling and illustrative work.

Thanks a lot. Indeed I wanted to step a bit away from the usual 3D (false) realistic look - for above reasons - but I had to do some experimenting and learning to do (and still have far to go). Of course visual art alsways has to compete for time with writing and world design, so it's really an amateur pleasure for me

I have put a synopsis under this image here:

I understand that the story may be difficult to follow, unfortunately that's almost unavoidable. Imagine taking any unrelated part out of the Silmarillion without ever having read other parts, the Hobbit or LOTR... You might like it, but there's no chance to get the bigger picture (or fit it into the story). Worse yet, the protagonists have no real clue what is behind all this, so they're just guessing and interpreting themselves and are no realiable narrators.

DA is not the best platform for literature, and I'm considering a couple of options. But it's a great site for experimenting and there are some good communities here to that end.
