Description BEHOLD! WELCOME TO VAPORIA, AIR OF THE LIBERATED!

Vaporia is a cloud continent, the heart of the Outer Kingdoms.
First founded by exiles and outlaws, Vaporia is the staging ground for any activity in the Outer Kingdoms.

Vaporia sounds too fascinating, and too bad we couldn't properly commission some artist to draw it for us. Oh well. I've been thinking of how I can visualize Vaporia ever since I first joined the WTWE crew, and Columbia from the upcoming Bioshock: Infinite seems as accurate as it can gets.

This is just a concept drawing I done when I was sleepless at 3 in the morning, nothing serious. I'll leave Vaporia to the imagination of all of you.

As always, cheers~

I can't BELIEVE I hadn't fave'd this yet! You know, it's all those little details that makes this picture work: the dragons, the airships, the fact that the buildings seem to be a combination of stone- and cloud-based architexture, the various different styles of buildings, and not to mention the sheer apparent scale of it all. In short, good work.

I'm most happy to hear someone noticed the dragons. And thanks so much!

Nice. I like seeing the sloped vertical aspect of this sketch. I was flying recently and staring out at the clouds, and thinking that a cloud city would probably look more like a mass of canyons and cliffs rather than the flat platforms that the cartoon shows. That is, you'd have buildings built into the side of clouds like cave dwellings instead of vaguely Greco-Roman temples sitting on level ground. I also like the building on the underside of a cloud, something I didn't think of at all.

Vaporia sounds like a really interesting and idealistic place.

(Hey, that looks kind of like a nuclear cooling tower in the upper-left!)

Thanks! I really appreciate your opinion on my work! Whenever I draw fantastical cities, I tends to stick them at un-even grounds for reasons I don't even know. As for the underside structures, I was tonna try to do more of those, like reversed spires and towers, but it didn't work well enough.

As for the nuclear power plant, that is the weather factory. Heh, I think I'll remove the reactor dome in future drawing though, xD

I like your style! The rough lines make it stand out. I also like how you chose blue as your base color. While the lines are rough, you still managed to put a great amount of detail in the architecture. I don't know if you know this, but this is how the of the creators of mlp first made the locations we all know today.

Wow, thats pretty crazy what you made here. very nice job. The architecture is still pretty impressive to look at, and I love the bioshock infinite vibe coming from it.

If you say so, I like how it looks more industrialized and steam-punk-ish than the usual cloud cities, which is inspired by Greek architecture.

Yeah, I think the entire Greek architecture is limited to some Equestrian cloud cities, since Pre-Equestrian pegasi seemed to be predominantly Greek in aspects (and militaristic).

Vaporia, on the other hand, is more like American during the Nineteen to early Twentieth Century. As said though, I think each cities/districts have their own somewhat distinct architecture style.
