Overall

Originality
Technique
Impact
It's been almost 3 years since I wrote a real critique on a picture of a FNAF character, but I think it's about time I wrote one.
First off, the title "Tears of criticism" is simple, yet full of impact. I know what this picture is instantly, even before seeing it. As an artist (like most of us on this site), it's something I know I'm going to be able to relate to, so I brace for impact. And you deliver.
The image itself is equally simple. But this works to your advantage, because the vast empty black space all around Ballora represents exactly how I feel when I feel crushed and defeated. I no longer see the audience for whom I'm performing, I don't see the stage on which I'm dancing, I don't see the backdrop of pretty curtains and lights that were intended to boost my image. I see nothing, none of it matters, since I failed to deliver a successful performance, having only received criticism after giving my best and my all.
On a more artistic level, the blackness all around Ballora represents the feelings of emptiness, loss, and blindness that I feel when I get depressed about my ability to do a good job or be a good friend or anything.
The lighting is colorless and desaturated, giving a "dead" feeling, which is appropriate.
I also love the composition, with Ballora to the left, facing away from the center of the image. To me, this reminds me of how, when I feel like this, I'm only thinking of the past behind me, and not the future in front of me. I'm letting all of the past mess and mistakes blind me of the future potential. There's simply nothing there, in my mind, or in this image.
And the slight reflection on the invisible floor gives an eerie sense of "reality" to the picture, like, it's not just a dream or out in space somewhere, she is actually sitting on something that we can't see. This is very real, even on an emotional level.
The pose itself too, it is very realistic and lifelike, and most certainly a pose I have found myself in many times in life. This picture certainly reminds me of these times I have felt this way, which means you've created true art.
Ironicly, I have no criticism of this picture. This portrayal of failure is a huge success. And it is only with such encouragement and positivity that can help someone out of this terrible, dark state. I call it "the abyss" when I find myself here, and it looks exactly like this. Just blackness... dark, nothing, empty, cold, lonely. It's a dangerous place, a downward spiral in the mind, and it's SO hard to get out of. Only a friend or loved one can help me out of this, with encouragement and positivity and connection.
I just want to turn on the lights in this picture, sit with Ballora, and tell her how beautiful her dance was. Those people who destroyed you with criticism were only trying to help. Yes, you gave your best, but I know you can do better. And you're not alone, everyone here loves you and wants to help you be your best. It's OK to ask for help, it's OK to learn from others. We all want to see you shine and be your best potential. We know you can do it.
Criticism is only as good as the equal amount of encouragement received. You have to balance out criticism with encouragement, or else you will make someone feel like this. Avoid the tears by showing them the love in your intentions, even if it is harsh criticism. Build others up, don't tear them down. Create, don't destroy. Love, don't hate. Then the world will be a better place.
Overall, a perfect image, using a perfect subject (the custom/stylized Ballora model) to show the perfect emotions for her. I feel like this image would have not had nearly as much impact with a different character/model, or a different emotion. A perfect pairing.
This is the kind of art that is so rare these days, because it's so hard to make. But this is what I love to see, and it really inspires me.
Thank you Qutiix for the journey resulting from this artwork e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

the funny thing is the cure for a scary past is in the past, you see the darkness in it but there is also light, when you did things right and it came out great, you remember the smile you had when it went so well and how it made you feel then, you can have a few bad moments and sometimes it's not as good as you thought but there's also the great stuff you only did because you wanted to then it was better then you thought that's there in the past too, never forget your achievementsΒ

yeah that's also very true.Β Problem is, all of those good things in the past that are needed to actually help you feel better, get lost in the darkness that consumes.

for me all the good is always good, never let anything good get robbed by the dark, it cannot change how you truly feel about it so don't let it

This is why I love Ballora. Sheβs gorgeous but sheβs probably the most upset animatronic next to Baby.... knowing that sheβs trapped inside of that pizza place until the end of her days ;-;
